A self proclaimed "reluctant survivor of life", billy has taken an abnormal amount of "perfectly peculiar" life experiences and transformed them into song. With a seemingly never ending array of open guitar tunings and a complete disregard for conventionality, Billy and his band Milk deliver a raw and honest force of music that leaves one wondering ..Why haven..t i heard that before?.. Found on a doorstep in New Orleans, Billy began a life that seems to have come straight out of a Bukowski novel. At the less then tender age of 16, Billy struck out for new york and found himself sharing a room with a heroin addicted nun. "Hello!? That shit was CRAZY!" So began the "Fuzzy Hurricane" that was the relationship of billy and new york city. "I lived so fast and hard then. It..s amazing no one got hurt." Along with bassist Arne and drummer Evans, Billy and co. prefer to keep things "simple". "I..ve been listening to music all my life, but the stuff that I keep coming back to always seems to be based on lyrics and mostly acoustic instrumentation." Growing up on a diet of Dylan, Havens, and Simon laced with Slayer, Rachmaninow, Davis and Waits cant be healthy for anyone. Let alone an equally unhealthy obsession for DiFranco, Chapman, Amos and O..connor. "I got drunk with Bruce Springsteen once. Well ok, I got drunk. He didn..t. We talked about 9/11 for a while. He said I was a hero. I should have told him he was one of mine." If you get a chance to see Milk live, do it. They don..t suck. "In den seltenen Fällen, dass ich schlafe, sehe oder höre ich im Traum Menschen, die mir Musik zeigen oder vorsingen. Wenn ich dann aufwache, bringe ich diese Songs zu Papier. Eines Tages werd.. ich wahrscheinlich noch vor dem ..Unterbewusstseins-Plagiat-Gerichtshof.. angeklagt... ” Als selbsternannter “Überlebender des Lebens” verwandelt Billy seine zahllosen, scheinbar völlig verrückten und doch realen Lebenserfahrungen in Songs. Mit einer scheinbar nie endenden Reihe von offenen Gitarren-Tunings und kompletter Missachtung von Konventionen liefern Billy und seine Band MILK eine rohe und ehrliche musikalische Wucht, die Zuhörer atemlos fragend zurück lässt: “Warum habe ich DAS nicht schon viel früher gehört!?” Gefunden auf einer Türschwelle in New Orleans, begann Billy ein Leben, dass direkt aus einem Roman von Charles Bukowski entsprungen zu sein scheint. Im mehr als zarten Alter von 16 Jahren verschlug es Billy nach New York, in ein Zimmer gemeinsam mit einer heroinsüchtigen Nonne... "Hallo!? Diese Scheiße war verrückt!" So begann die selbstzerstörerische Liebe zwischen Billy und New York City "Ich lebte so schnell und hart damals. Es ist erstaunlich, dass niemand verletzt wurde...." Zusammen mit Bassist Arne und Schlagzeuger Evans, halten Billy und Co. die DInge nun lieber einfach. “Ich habe mein ganzes Leben lang Musik gehört, aber das Zeug, zudem ich immer wieder zurück finde, scheint immer sehr auf Texte und akkustische Instrumentierung aufgebaut zu sein.” In seiner Jugend musikalisch ernährt zu werden von Bob Dylan, Richie Havens, Slayer, Rachmaninow und Miles Davis - das kann für niemanden gesund sein... Ganz zu schweigen von einer ebenso ungesunden Besessenheit von DiFranco, Chapman, Amos und O..Connor. “Ich habe mich eine Nacht mit Bruce Springsteen betrunken... Na gut, eigentlich habe nur ich getrunken... Wir sprachen über den 11. September...
