Woran denkst Du, wenn Du das Wort MONO hörst? Stereo? Das wäre doch viel zu einfach!
Nein, der Name der Hamburger Band um Frontmann Martin Engler ist eine Ableitung von MONOMANIE. Dieser Begriff stammt aus der Krankheitslehre des frühen 19ten Jahrhunderts und bedeutet soviel wie Teilwahnsinn. Wer allerdings vom musikalischen Feuerwerk (welches die Band am liebsten live entfacht) erfasst wird, muss sich dagegen eher fragen: „warum nur Teilwahnsinn?“. Immerhin legen MONO INC. im Laufe der letzten 2 Jahre einen derart planierraupenartigen Siegeszug durch die Szene hin, den man getrost als kompletten Wahnsinn bezeichnen kann!
Spätestens seit dem Szene-Hit Get Some Sleep vom vorletzten Longplayer Pain, Love & Poetry kennt auch die letzte schwarze Seele die Musik der drei Herren mit der Lady an den Drums. Folgerichtig sind MONO INC. schon 2008 und 2009 auf allen erlebniswerten Festivals nicht zu überhören und können auf Ihren ausgedehnten Tourneen mit Subway To Sally und ASP viele weitere Herzen infizieren.
Am 25.09.2009 erscheint mit VOICES OF DOOM das vierte Album inklusive der gleichnamigen Hitsingle und markiert einen Meilenstein in der Bandgeschichte, denn Fans und Medien feiern es gleichermaßen ab. Die Kommentare der führenden Magazine: „Ein Meisterwerk!“ (Orkus) „Ein absolutes Muss!“ (Zillo) „Unwiderstehlich!“ (Sonic Seducer). VOICES OF DOOM steigt am Tag der Veröffentlichung in die deutschen Rock- und Metalcharts ein und behauptet sich für 10 Wochen in den Top 30.
Im Januar 2010 schlagen MONO INC. ein weiteres Kapitel in Ihrem Buch des Teilwahnsinns auf: man startet die erste echte, heiß ersehnte Headlinertour der Bandgeschichte – mit wahnsinnigem Erfolg! „Gigantisch und und schlicht überwältigend, dass bei so vielen Clubs das AUSVERKAUFT-Schild an der Tür hing…“ schwärmt Sänger Martin Engler. Diese Resonanz bleibt nicht ohne Konsequenzen: ab dem 1. Oktober 2010 spielt die Band nach reichlich Festivals einen zusätzlichen, zweiten Teil der VOICES OF DOOM-Tour in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz. Martin weiter: „Endlich Schluss mit dem Entzug – wir freuen uns sehr auf die Tour und den prall gefüllten Festival-Sommer. Wir sind einfach eine Live-Band und verbringen unser Leben am liebsten auf der Bühne!“
Wer MONO INC. bislang verpasst hat, bekommt also 2010 noch zahlrieche Möglichkeiten, sich von der Energie und der bestechenden Live-Atmosphäre der Teilwahnsinnigen zu überzeugen.

What goes through your mind, when you hear the word „Mono“? Stereo?
That would be far too simple.
No, the name of the Hamburg based band round frontman Martin Engler derives from the word Monomania. This term is a medical term from the early 1900s and means partially insane.
Whoever is lit by the band’s musical fireworks (which the band preferably ignite live!) will ask “Why only partially insane?” After all in the past year Mono Inc. have invaded the scene in a way you could call “ complete Insanity” .
After the Scene-Hit “Get some Sleep” from the last Longplayer “Pain, Love & Poetry” every last dark soul knows the music of the three gentlemen and the lady at the drums. So of course in 2008 and 2009 MONO INC. could not be overheard at all important festivals and could infect many more hearts on their vast tours with Subway to Sally and ASP.
On 25th September 2009 the fourth Album Voices of Doom is released including the hit single of the same name. The release sets a milestone in the history of the band as the media and the fans celebrate it likewise. Comments of the leading magazines: “A masterpiece!” (Orkus) “An absolute Must Have!” (Zillo) “Irresistable!” (Sonic Seducer). Voices of Doom enters the german Rock and Metal Charts on the day of it’s release and holds it’s place in the top 30 for 10 weeks.
In January of 2010 Mono Inc. start a new chapter in their book of partial insanity. They start their first real, long awaited headliner Tour – with insane success! “Incredible and overwhelming that so many clubs had to hang the “sold out” sign on the door!” says the thrilled singer Martin Engler. This reaction is not without consequences. From October 1st 2010 the band are starting their “Voices of Doom” tour part two in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Martin: “At long last no more deprivation - we are looking forward to the tour and the festival packed summer. We are a live Band and prefer to spend our time on stage!”

Wow, gerade ist die neue EP "Comedown" bei mir gelandet. Nun, wie soll man sie beschreiben? Worte wie "genial" "großartig" und "fantastisch" habt ihr längst hinter euch gelassen! Es ist einfach Mono Inc. einfach das beste was man finden kann und einfach zu gut um es mit Worten zu beschreiben.
