    August 2011 What goes through your mind, when you hear the word „Mono"? Stereo? That would be far too simple. No, the name of the Hamburg-based band fronted by Martin Engler derives from the word Monomania. This is a medical term from the early 1900s and means partially insane. Whoever is set alight by the band's musical fireworks - which the band definitely ignites live - will ask "Why only partially insane?" After all, in the past years Mono Inc. have invaded the scene in a way that could be called "complete insanity". After hearing the hits "Get some Sleep" and "Voices Of Doom", every last dark soul knows the music of the three gentlemen and the lady at the drums... In spring 2010 the band started their first real headliner and toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Due to the great success of that tour they played 15 extra shows in the autumn of 2010, performing at such legendary festivals as Summer Breeze, Amphi Festival and Castle Rock. To coincide with that tour MONO INC released the EP 'Comedown' which was in the top ten of the German Alternative Charts for more than 10 weeks. To close an amazing year the four rockers were invited by Germany's incredible top act UNHEILIG, to play 21 sold-out arenas all over Germany. MONO INC.'s live performances were a triumph. Their new album "Viva Hades" represents the next chapter in the world of monomania. Released on March 18 it is a collection of songs heavily influenced by their live shows during 2010. "The energy of all those overwhelming moments on stage went directly into our eleven new songs" says singer and songwriter Martin Engler. Hitting the German TOP 100 album charts on #50 "Viva Hades" is a deeply powerful rocking and floating album. Sometimes danceable, but also at times melancholic – in other words 100% MONO INC... Followed by a nearly completely sold out tour through G/A/S in April/May 2011 the band is up to enter new territories. Im Winter 2011

Woran denkst Du, wenn Du das Wort MONO hörst? Stereo? Das wäre doch viel zu einfach! Nein, der Name der Hamburger Band um Frontmann Martin Engler ist eine Ableitung von MONOMANIE. Dieser Begriff stammt aus der Krankheitslehre des frühen 19ten Jahrhunderts und bedeutet soviel wie Teilwahnsinn. Wer allerdings vom musikalischen Feuerwerk (welches die Band am liebsten live entfacht) erfasst wird, muss sich dagegen eher fragen: „warum nur Teilwahnsinn?“. Immerhin legen MONO INC. im Laufe der letzten 2 Jahre einen derart planierraupenartigen Siegeszug durch die Szene hin, den man getrost als kompletten Wahnsinn bezeichnen kann!

Spätestens seit ihren Hits Voices Of Doom und Get Some Sleep kennt auch die letzte schwarze Seele die Musik der drei Herren mit der Lady an den Drums. Im Frühjahr 2010 startete die Band ihre erste Headliner Tour durch deutsche Lande - mit durchschlagendem Erfolg: ausverkaufte Clubs und begeisterte Fans sorgten sogar dafür, dass die Tour im Oktober um weitere 15 Shows verlängert wurde. Im Gepäck veröffentlichte die Band die EP Comedown, die sich über 10 Wochen in den Top 20 der DAC Charts halten konnte. Zum krönenden Abschluss des erfolgreichsten Jahres der Bandgeschichte wurden MONO INC. von dem derzeit erfolgreichsten deutschen Mega-Act UNHEILIG als Special Guest zu deren Jubiläums-Tour eingeladen: 21 ausverkaufte Termine in den größten Arenen Deutschlands! Die Massen (im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes) zeigten sich begeistert.

Am 18.03.2011 schlagen MONO INC. ein weiteres Kapitel in Ihrem Buch des Teilwahnsinns auf: es erscheint mit VIVA HADES das fünfte Album der Band. „Da wir das ganze letzte Jahr auf Tour verbracht haben, entstanden die meisten Songs unter den frischen Eindrücken dieser überwältigenden Konzerte. Diese Energie ist irgendwie direkt in die Kompositionen geflossen“ resümiert Sänger Martin Engler. „Viva Hades ist dadurch ein ziemlich treibendes Album geworden. Meistens tanzbar und rockig – und hier und da wie immer ein wenig melancholisch. 100% MONO INC. eben…“
