Hit The Dust: Rico Bernasconi is in full creative flow right now...his collabaration with Ace of Base has just flown into the charts and here he comes already with a follow-up: Hit The Dust has all the makings of a hit, just like its predecessor. This time, Rico has gone back in the studio with his Starshit label partner Marquez Klamt, their first production team-up in a long while. Moving away from his usual style, Rico takes a different direction and gone for a groove with a fantastic rap, delivered by none other than Dean Burke, the man on the mic for Music Instructor. In the past, Rico Bernasconi has worked on a number of occasions with Leroy Daniels (on the Vinylshakerz hit “Club Tropicana” for example). So who better to invite to the studio to record this 100% hit-style hook. It stands to reason that Rico has lined up a brilliant remix package as well, starting with his old buddy Yves Larock, returning the favour after Rico remixed Rise Up with such success. Along with the Original Mix, there’s a big room remix from DJs From Mars and club DJs are sure to have fun with the the Kut & Swel and Tho-Ku & Ragi remixes. **************************************************************** Cruel Summer: Back in April, Rico Bernasconi’s Love Deep Inside was an early taste of summer, rising to the top of the dance charts at home and abroad. As the record grew on an international level, a world famous 1990s act in Sweden became aware of Rico’s music – no less a legend than ACE OF BASE. From 1992 to 1999, they delivered a series of global successes, including a cover version of 80’s girl group Bananarama’s “CRUEL SUMMER”. Rico had always been a fan of both groups and wasted no time in creating a new version of the song with the original Ace of Base vocals. With a little help from his studio buddy Vinterra and supported by a Tom Pulse Sunshine.rmx, Rico sent the results to Sweden. The group were more than happy with what they heard, agreeing to team up on the new release as a “versus”. Rico’s Original Club Mix comes with catchy electro beats, energetic vocal effects and an unforgettable Ace of Base hookline. The Tom Pulse remix is the one for commercial DJs, with that trademark Sunshine sound that Tom Pulse has made so popular. That’s not all however - DJ Tom Cut has come up with a classic club mix, whilst Rico’s protegé Max Farenthide has also brought a mix to the party. Rico Bernasconi has conjured up an extra special surprise guest to complete the package: all the way from BoogieDownBerlin, star producer DJ Tomekk has given his masterful touch to the track . Summer has most definitely arrived! For some years now Rico has been concentrating on his solo career and together with his pal Vinterra he remixed the 2008 version of Yves Larock’s “Rise Up“. The mix played a major part in taking the tune into the top 10 of dance charts everywhere. Now, the old school reggae fan Rico has locked himself in the studio with his posse and emerged with his own reggae composition. Love Deep Inside gives us a first taste of summer, you can already feel the sun, the heat and hot bodies!
